The science behind the product:
5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) is an enzyme that converts fatty acids into leukotrienes. (1)
Since 5-LOX levels increase over time, excess 5-LOX has been connected to some of the common effects of normal ageing. (2)
Boswellia extract can inhibit 5-LOX
Boswellia serrata extract is shown to inhibit 5-LOX at the cellular level. Research reveals that the compound AKBA (3-O-acetyl-11-keto-ß-boswellic acid) is crucial for this beneficial action. (3)
However, Boswellia compounds are poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. To address this issue, the formula uses AprèsFlex®, which is a standardized form of Boswellia extract.
AprèsFlex® is shown to be absorbed into the blood 52% better than previously available Boswellia extracts. (4)

The typical Western diet is rich in omega-6 fatty acids like red meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy products, along with high-glycaemic carbohydrates.
